What you will learn
The day focuses on how to care for, feed and manage small farm animals organically so that they provide you with top quality meat, fibre, or eggs. The workshop is designed to introduce you to basic animal husbandry practices particularly humane handling, animal welfare and feeding practices. The workshop is for those wanting to specialise in producing well fed, healthy and content animals whose welfare and health needs take priority. The course focuses on the animal husbandry practices that will deliver the high quality meat, fibre or eggs ina way that best manages the health and welfare of your small farm animals.

There are no requirements other than an appreciation of domesticated poultry and a willingness to raise then to a high standard for the absolute best in meat and eggs.
The course aims to provide you with practical knowledge and skills to manage poultry, pigs, sheep and goats on a small scale, applying organic principles - no pesticides or herbicides, and sound animal husbandry principles and practices. Together these ensure healthy, happy animals who will provide you with top quality meat, fibre or eggs.
This workshop is offered in Braidwood NSW, and soon to be online where it will be available across Australia. Couples discounts apply. Pay the full amount, notify us of you and your partners names, and we will refund $25 after the day of the workshop.
Your Workshop Facilitators
Your Tutors from Wynlen House Urban Micro Farm and Learning Centre, Braidwood NSW are Bronwyn Richards, a successful small commercial farmer & market gardener of 12 years experience. Bron's work has a focus on sustainability, soil health, water conservation and organic growing principles. Bronwyn also has a background in policy advocacy in NSW and has worked as a vet nurse. She has worked with Local Land Services, NSW, in the region to provide workshops on Raising Table Poultry.
Helen Lynch, BA, DipEdStud, MEdAdmin, PostGDOEd, CertIVTAE, is an educator and online and face to face learning designer, having spent 15 years across the TAFE and University sectors designing educational experiences for adults.
